The small bell to the pet shop door quietly rang throughout the building as the last customer of the evening walked inside. The sound of footsteps against the cold concrete ground could be heard as the unknown male began walking down the dirt-covered aisle. Eager hybrids moved to the door of their cage in hope of escaping the horrid shop while others cowered in the back of theirs, trying their best to hide from the potential owner. Only one of the hybrids in the shop seemed to be unaffected by the new arrival. A young male who seemed to be asleep in the back of his cage. Or simply ignoring everything happening around him. His pitch-black hair and pale skin were caked with grime and his loose clothing was torn in several areas. There were no noticeable features about him to make it obvious he was a hybrid. Others in the shops had ears or tails dictating what they were. Strangely this was the hybrid that caught the customer's attention. ***** Ezra had lived in the small and nasty pet shop for most of his young life. He had watched many different hybrids come and go through the same door. Many of them being dogs, cats, or bunnies. Sweet and cuddly animals that anyone wished for. Animals that seemed to be the complete opposite of what he was. Ezra was a black mamba. A snake that terrified people and a species perfect at warding off anybody even remotely interested in adopting him. Not like he was really he wanted to be a pet to someone anyway. What happens when for the first time in his life, someone is actually interested in the young snake hybrid? ***** This is my very first story so please don't hate on it if it is a bit crappy >~<
